Throughout the year we will be studying life science using a variety of activities such as, but not limited to, labs, projects and activities, diagrams, models, Cornell notes, videos, study skills, thinking maps, etc. We will be following the California State Standards for Life Science. Topics include, but are not limited to, The Metric System, Characteristics of Living Things, Plant and Animal Cells, Cell Division, Heredity/Genetics, Darwin's Theory and Evolution/Geologic Time, and Plant Reproduction.

 With cold/flu and allergy season upon us,I have so appreciated all the Kleenex donations as well as the school supplies from the cards on my door at back to school night! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!  I am now good for Kleenex but am on my last container of Anti Bacterial Wipes for the students to clean their desks and counters with. I will give 3 gold cards for one container of wipes up to 2 Containers/6 Gold Cards per student. Lysol or Clorox are well known brands but the store brands are good too. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP (-: !!

Above are 2 posters I'm posted for the group members who do not have cell phones today to take a picture of poster to use to complete the Index card "Trophic Level Big Picture Energy Transfer Story"  remember you are starting with a Produer/plant and telling a story from your poster as you move up the Energy pyramid. Be sure to include vocabulary words from the posted words and don't forget to include your decomposers, be selective of which dead organisms they would most likely be decomposing/eating. 
The half index cards are Tuesday nights homework and due tomorrow Wed. 4/25! On the card each student must - in their own words, using as much of the units vocabulary words as they can,  explain the relationships and interactions between the various organisms on their food web poster.  Use the following word bank of terms to help you:

ALSO!!!! Some students still have not turned in their colored life like drawing of there researched native local organism! It was due on Monday 4/23. Please complete this ASAP and turn into me! 
 

Weekend Homework 4/21-4/22 DUE MONDAY 4/21

I am posting pictures of the 3 things that are due on Monday 4/21. IF YOU CANT FINISH ALL THEM , The fully colored and as life like looking as possible  Organism Expert Picture MUST BE TURNED IN ON MONDAY, as well as the White BrainPop Ecosystem vocabulary practice worksheet! But You may turn in the blue BrainPop Vocabulary practice worksheet on Food Chains on Tuesday for stamps (:!
PLEASE BE READY WITH CONNECTION (arrow) ideas for your group food web posters!!
If you still have not turned in your Organism Foo, water,shelter,space, live, grow, reproduce expert card, or completed your gold, blue and pink Food web poster (producer, consumer, decomposer) cards PLEASE TURN THEM IN ASAP!! Thank you and have a good weekend everyone!!!! 

Wed. 4/18 Homework Due on Thursday 4/19

1. ALL RESEARCH CARDS ARE DUE COMPLETED FOR TURN IN TOMORROW IN CLASS. We will be starting the Food Web Group Activity and Web Poster In Class Tomorrow!
2. Your Completed and FULLY COLORED drawing of your assigned research  Animal, Plant or Decomposer is DUE BY MONDAY 4/23!
3. The COMPLETED vocabulary pg 2 nine words is due on Friday 4/20. Don't forget to color your pictures!
4. The Brain Pop Ecosystems Vocabulary Practice worksheet will now be due on Monday 4/23 along with your colored organism picture!

Finish filling out your green or yellow research collection worksheets on your assigned living organisms And Then- 
tranfer the information NEATLY onto your white card inputting the correct information in each box/section on the front side (food, water, shelter, space) and the back side ( live, grow, reproduce) cards are due tomorrow so they can be collected and sorted for Friday's Food Web Group activity :D!!!
