Throughout the year we will be studying life science using a variety of activities such as, but not limited to, labs, projects and activities, diagrams, models, Cornell notes, videos, study skills, thinking maps, etc. We will be following the California State Standards for Life Science. Topics include, but are not limited to, The Metric System, Characteristics of Living Things, Plant and Animal Cells, Cell Division, Heredity/Genetics, Darwin's Theory and Evolution/Geologic Time, and Plant Reproduction.

 With cold/flu and allergy season upon us,I have so appreciated all the Kleenex donations as well as the school supplies from the cards on my door at back to school night! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!  I am now good for Kleenex but am on my last container of Anti Bacterial Wipes for the students to clean their desks and counters with. I will give 3 gold cards for one container of wipes up to 2 Containers/6 Gold Cards per student. Lysol or Clorox are well known brands but the store brands are good too. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP (-: !!

HW due tomorrow:
1. Color code the map as best you can using the color key for risk levels provided. It's NOT PERFECT, it just needs to represent what risk is mostly in what areas of the world. 
2. Go the interactive map using the tiny url provided and ONLY look for information related to Q#1 and and 2. ( you may look at the other amazing facts and videos later  (;
3. Go to the second tiny url for the WenGen informational video. Watch twice and pay attention to the technology, the product, and the results and current and future  uses for such machines and any drawbacks you may see in this machine.
 Do C and D (label bars with numbers) For homework. You are bar graphing the numerical data from Section B! USE COLOR TO FILL IN THE BARS/ BOXES,!

PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS BELOW TO COMPLETE THE POWERPOINT HOMEWORK:
 
Carbon Cycle Powerpoint:
READ all the slides.
On a piece of notebook paper:
On slides with Q's, write Q and answer it.
On slides with videos:
WATCH the video and take NOTES on same piece of paper
On slides with carbon cycle lists of sources:
Copy the list and any info  and DRAW the CIRCULAR Carbon Cycle Diagram!
 
QFT Predict the Topic Powerpoint:
READ EACH SLIDE AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!
On another piece of paper :
Write the Q or task down!
BE SURE you REAAAAALY look at the pictures to help you create a minimum of 10 questions (1/2 closed and 1/2 open ended) about what you see or think they are about or how they are related or what they may have to do with.
You may SKIP the Rally Robin.
You MUST do Think write Round robin Tasks on slide 9 and 10 on your paper!
DO NOT DO slides 11 or 12
DO watch the video on slide 13 and take NOTES.
Be ready to share your notes and questions with your group on Tuesday 2/20
 

REMINDER!!! PHOTOSYNTHESIS and CELLULAR RESPIRATION FOLDER COVERS ARE DUE TOMORROW!!!!

COVER ART should include SEPARATE colored drawings or printed out and colored images or diagrams of BOTH reactions!!! They should be colored, labeled and include ARROWS showing how MATTER goes IN and OUT of the ORGANELLE/ORGANISM !!!! Thanks and cant wait to see what you design :D!!!

A partially done example to help you- there should be purple boxes in 2nd paragraph as well and one red star/asterisk in each of  paragraphs 2, 3, and 4. PLEASE FOLLOW ANNOTATION FORMAT RULES!  You are NOT just coloring the paragraphs yellow!!
