Eighth Grade Honors English Language Arts (Period 4)

Students have read "To Fly" which is an essay they have in their blue folder. They are differentiating between the literal language and the figurative language the author uses to explore the history of flight.  Students have to depict both types language on construction paper.

 

This is a creative assignment designed to have students both visualize what they read and to recognize various ways authors use language to convey meaning.
