Throughout the year we will be studying life science using a variety of activities such as, but not limited to, labs, projects and activities, diagrams, models, Cornell notes, videos, study skills, thinking maps, etc. We will be following the California State Standards for Life Science. Topics include, but are not limited to, The Metric System, Characteristics of Living Things, Plant and Animal Cells, Cell Division, Heredity/Genetics, Darwin's Theory and Evolution/Geologic Time, and Plant Reproduction.

 With cold/flu and allergy season upon us,I have so appreciated all the Kleenex donations as well as the school supplies from the cards on my door at back to school night! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!  I am now good for Kleenex but am on my last container of Anti Bacterial Wipes for the students to clean their desks and counters with. I will give 3 gold cards for one container of wipes up to 2 Containers/6 Gold Cards per student. Lysol or Clorox are well known brands but the store brands are good too. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP (-: !!

Re-Read Your Notes from the stations on Plate Tectonics Theory Evidence. Rank the 3 or 4 or 5 pieces of evidence you read about in order of :
1st place : Most Convincing piece of evidence
2nd place: Pretty convincing
3rd place: almost convincing
4th place: a little skeptical about this one
5th place: also skeptical about this one

1. Unit 3 Non Contact  Forces FOLDER COVERS for 15% off LATE CREDIT
(originally assigned 10 days ago Due today Friday 11/16). 
 
2. NASA Eclipse Worksheet using NASA website (link is on my website). Asssigned 11/5, and worked on today in class, students may complete it over Break and turn it in on Mon. 11/26 for full credit- late credit after 11/26
 
3. Complete the First 9 words for Unit 3 Vocabulary.

the Majority of 8th graders started this assignment in class today Fri. 11/16. Students have the special worksheet for this vocabulary. Students will need to search for "CPO Focus On Physical Science Text Book" and this will bring up many PDF's of the 8th grade textbook. Students are to use THE TEXT BOOK for all definitions and extra facts, an explanation or examples of the vocabulary words EXCEPT the words about Magnetism- which are not in the book. They may use a decent online line dictionary or real dictionary for those terms. Due on Monday11/26 or Tuesday 11/27 but full credit ends on Tuesday 11/27.
