Coronavirus Update from LA County Department of Public Health (2/4/20)

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

The health and welfare of our students, families, employees and community is one of the Rowland Unified School District’s highest priorities. The following is the latest information from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health regarding the Coronavirus.

 

LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH REQUIREMENT FOR ALL SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY

 

As of February 4, 2020, any person who has returned from the Hubei Province or mainland China, is required by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to be on a mandatory 14-day self-isolation/social distancing period. Parents of students are asked to notify their child’s school and the school will provide assignments until the 14-day self-isolation period concludes. Los Angeles County Department of Public Health will continue to monitor the health status of all individuals during and after the self-isolation/social distancing period.

 

This does not include travel from Taiwan or Hong Kong.

 

Parents who have further questions may contact the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health by dialing 211 or visiting the website at www.publichealth.lacounty.gov.

 

TRAVEL INFORMATION: As required by the Federal Government, as of February 4, 2020, any individual who is not a resident of the United States will not be allowed in to the United States if traveling from mainland China.

 

Additionally, any resident returning to the United States from mainland China is required to participate in a health screening. If the individual demonstrates any symptoms of fever or respiratory illness will immediately be taken to a hospital for medical treatment and care.
