Students are working on a World War II unit in class. Each student chose a partner and topic to research for this unit. We have class time with iPads for research; however, students must complete research, write an oral report, and bring in at least 4 pictures to share with the class.
These pictures can be printed off of the internet, be pages from a book or other source.
Oral reports will begin on Thursday, April 24th.
Attached are the directions for research students were given during class.

Students are working with a partner to research a topic of choice within World War II. Students have specific guidelines for research, and class time has been given with our iPads.
Class time will also be given to create an oral presentation. The parts of the presentation that cannot be completed in class are the visual aides. Students need to bring in at least 4 visual aides to show the class during their oral presentations. Students can bring in books with photographs or images printed off the computer. Or, students can create a power point.
Specific guidelines for writing the presentation along with the scaled for grading was given to students on Monday, April 14th.
Oral presentations begin on April 23rd; all students must be ready to present on this date, and it will likely take 2 days for all presentations to be delivered.

Students will take a final exam on the novel The Outsiders. Students have study questions and answers, along with vocabulary to prepare for this test.

Students must submit the final draft of their essays either in printed form or online. If students turn in a printed essay, I will grade it with corrections.
If a student chooses to have me grade the online version, a grade will be given without specific corrections. If a student would like to go over the essay on line either before or after school for discussion, we will agree on a time for this.

In class, students began an essay, and the rough draft or outline is due Wednesday. On Wednesday, students will type their essays into MyAccess, a computerized program that will guide students through editing their papers.

Newspaper Article regarding an incident that occurred in chapter 4 of The Outsiders. Students need to include: Must be in dark blue or black ink, must have a title and your name as author, setting, unbiased point of view, correctly written dialogue with at least 4 lines of conversation, may make assumptions of what could have happened, vivid written description, and a conclusion. This article should cover one full page.

Timeline on the 1960's is due. Students received specific instructions and materials needed during class. The guidelines: 3 examples from each category of the 1960's research; this totals 24 examples. This is a visual timeline so all information should be represented in symbols, icons, illustrations, pictures printed and cut out, and all images should have captions.Timeline must have color. Nothing should be in plain pencil. All dates and words should be in ink.
