Physical Education Rules 2013-2014
1. You cannot wear another student’s PE clothes. Students must wear their own PE clothes or wear
Alvarado’s loan clothes. Teacher consequence will be given and clothes will be confiscated.
2. You cannot wear your PE clothes in the classroom. You must change out of your PE clothes before
leaving the PE area.
3. Take your PE clothes home each at least once a week for laundering or when dirty.
4. First and last name in the designated area on PE clothing only. Any other writing will require purchasing
new PE clothes.
5. You must wear tennis shoes with tightly tied laces that stay on your feet during physical activity. No flats or boots are allowed. Points will be deducted from your grade for each violation.
6. Do not share lockers. Never give anyone your combination.
7. Lock up all your belongings- at all times. THIS INCLUDES YOUR CELL PHONE!
8. After dressing go immediately to your assigned number and sit down.
a. Do not sit on the bench
b. Do not walk, tumble or go near the sit up mats before or after class.
9. Sit up mats are to be used when instructed to do so by your teacher.
10. Follow safety rules that are specific to the sport’s activity-- examples: stay behind the backstop or fence
in softball, stay outside the 1/2 circle in soccer and team handball, use a freeze kick in football, etc.
11. Stop games immediately on your teacher’s whistle or when the bell rings
12. Walk equipment to the student aide, teacher, blue bag or cart at the end of the period.
13. Do not use any equipment before or after class.
14. When walking to and from assigned games do not go through and interrupt another teacher’s class-- go
around the game.
15. Do not leave the PE area without permission.
16. At the end of the period do not leave the gated PE area before the passing bell rings. You must go
straight to the designated painted area and wait until the bell rings.
17. Do not go near the portables before, during and after class.
18. Do not hit, kick or touch another person.
19. Do not pull another student’s PE shorts down. This is an on campus suspension.
20. Do not throw ANY objects unless instructed by a teacher.
21. No horse playing is allowed at any time-- example: chasing each other. This includes inside the locker
room as well as the outside area.
22. Do not hang from basketball rims or nets.
23. Do not hang from the top of the pole climb.
24. No shouting, screaming, yelling, whistling in the locker room.
25. Use the vending machine at your own risk. No refunds will be given. Open your drink containers
outside.
26. You may bring water, Gatorade or juice to class on your running day.
27. Do not use the fire exit door unless there is a fire in the locker room. Detention will be assigned.
28. Stud earrings only for ears, nose and face
29. No wristbands or watches on wrists….only medical bracelet can be worn.
30. Jewelry removed must be secured in the PE locker in a container. The student will be responsible for his/her jewelry and belongings. This includes all earrings (except studs), watches, bracelets, ankle bracelets, necklaces, rings. wristbands and any piercings that could be a safety hazard.
31. NO CELL PHONES IN THE LOCKER ROOM OR ON THE PE BLACKTOP OR PLAYING FIELDS AT ANYTIME! LEAVE YOUR CELLPHONE IN YOUR BACKPACK AND DO NOT TAKE IT OUT AT ANYTIME DURING PE! YOUR CELLPHONE WILL BE CONFISCATED AND TAKEN TO ROOM 4 IF SEEN BY A PE TEACHER!
