MATHCOUNTS
 
We chose to highlight the Alvarado Mile for the MathCounts club, because it puts students with the same passion for math in an environment that enables them to use critical thinking and problem solving while making new friends. Through working with MathCounts, we have learned this group shows our Alvarado HONOR values and beliefs by building communication and teamwork skills (Open-Hearted, Respect, Honesty), teaching and learning from each other (Everyone Needs a Teacher), and by finding different solutions for problems by using critical thinking skills (Never Give Up).
 
Art Club
 
Throughout working with Mrs. Lugo and the Art Club, we have learned this group shows our Alvarado HONOR values and beliefs by welcoming everyone, encouraging everyone to learn, and connecting with others.
 
California Junior Scholarship Federation
 
Throughout working with the members of CJSF, we have learned this group shows our Alvarado HONOR values and beliefs through volunteering for our community, responsibility in completing all your community service hours, and planning our future with the scholarship opportunities this club provides.
 
Gardening Club
 
Through working with the members and Mr. Red, we have learned this group shows our Alvarado HONOR values and beliefs through Never Giving Up, taking Ownership, and finding that all Students are Gifted and Talented.
 
 
Throughout working with gardening club, we have learned this group shows our Alvarado HONOR values and beliefs through Ownership, by doing our best to finish the project; Never-Give Up, by not backing out of the project when it got tough; and Honesty, by doing our work and not lying about missing work.
 
Science Olympiad
 
Through working with Science Olympiad, we have learned this group shows our Alvarado HONOR values and beliefs through overcoming all challenges during online competitions (Never Give Up), after every competition, we always found a way to do better in each even (Everyday is an Opportunity to be the Greatest Version of Me), and being able to claim ownership by taking pride on how they placed because eventually, their hard work pays off (Ownership).
 
 
Through working with Science Olympiad, we have learned this group shows our Alvarado HONOR values and beliefs through working with other people (Open-Hearted), showing hard work (Never give up), and owning your actions to study (Ownership).
 
 
Through working with Science Olympiad, we have learned this group shows our Alvarado HONOR values and beliefs through teamwork by working together on competitions, with Never Giving Up by trying harder after failure, and Respecting their teammates.
 
 
Through working with Science Olympiad, we have learned this group shows our Alvarado HONOR values and beliefs through teamwork, science, and the challenge of tournaments.
