Logging into the Digital Library

this is a demonstration of how the digital library can be used to find resources if I'm a new user to the digital library once I've been activated I will receive an activation email the activation email or provide me with my username Play password and the direct link to the digital library clicking on the link will bring me to the Digital Library login page here I can enter my username and temporary password the first time I do this I will be prompted to reset my password and answer some security questions for this demonstration I'm going to assume I've already done that and I'm logging into the for the first time the first time login to the digital library I presented with the welcome tutorial this is making it very easy for me to find out all the information to make me feel comfortable to use a Digital Life play for the first time I can navigate through the different Topics by clicking the arrows and if I want to find out more information I can click directly into the topic I feel comfortable and ready to use a digital library I can close the welcome tutorial I can does the welcome tutorial and help topics at Anytime by accessing the help button on the navigation toolbar since this is the first time volume to the digital library the first thing I need to do is set up my account profile here I can answer answer my title and expertise the digital library has already been pre-populated with my first name last name and email address I can also set my private settings here I can select to display my last name email address school districts and expertise once I've completed my profile I can select to save changes I'm ready to use a digital library to search for resources I can do this by clicking on the Digital Library resources tab if I'm a kindergarten teacher looking for a resource to use in the classroom to teach count I can come here to find that resource quick and the Digital Library resources tab is going to show me all the resources that are currently in the Digital Life by default they're sorted by newest making it very easy for me to see what resources are new since the last time I locked into the digital library eat resources ways the title of the resource the description the subjects and grades of the resources aligned to the media types of the reefs and I can also see the number of used downloads and user rating I can use this information to help me find my kindergarten math counting resource I can browse more resources by clicking the show more resources button your 528 resources in the digital library and I'm looking for a very specific resource I can use the category filters to help narrow down the search results make you very easy tell me to find a resource and looking for Cricket on the subject is going to show me all the different subjects that I can choose from since I'm searching for a math counting resource I can sickness contents counting and cardinality and since I'm looking for resource specifically I'm going to select kindergarten I can click apply filters and the digital library will show me all the resources that a times to nass contact counting and cardinality and kindergarten Here I can see that there are 24 resources which is still a lot of resources for me too make my search easier I'm going to sort by highest rated this way I can start with the resources that I know other users Digital Library have raided the First Resource that is displayed as kindergarten counting lesson I can see that fit subjects and matches what I searched for with content counting and cardinality and it can be used for kindergarten I can click the resource by clicking on the resource title and here's where I can find out everything I need to know about the resource and how do you use it in the classroom I'm first presented with the about this resource tab here I can see all the subjects grades and the Common Core State Standards if this resource aligns to additionally I can read the summary see the attributes to the formative assessment process and understand the specific connection to the formative assessment process I know that every resource in the digital library is going to show me all this information making it very easy for me to read about the resources and understand how I can best use them after I read about this resource I also have the opportunity to view the resource materials right in the same place they can't very need for me to get everything I need to know I can view the different materials by clicking the view all material button intensive research as a lot of pages I can also choose to download it and review it later offline this seems like a pretty good resource that I want to use in my classroom I'm still not done looking for resources I'm going to add this resource my favorite so I can easily find it the next time I log into the digital library since I find this resource very helpful and I want to find other resources that are similar to this resource I can select related starts directly on the resource itself Quicken related resources or going to show me all the resources that are related to this current resources this current resource but subject grades and attribute to the formative assessment process I can look through the different Resources by clicking the arrows and I can click directly into the resource from this page as well here I'm again presented with you about this resource tab working turn that all the information I need to know on how to use the resource at anytime I can click the back button what's your bring me back to my turn off search results for me to continue searching at anytime I can click to reset the filters and began searching the different category filters or keyword search and this is how I can use a digital library to help find resources
