Ms. Jasmine Castro » Welcome!

Welcome!

I'm Ms. Castro and I'm super excited to be teaching 7th grade English Language Arts at the World's GREATEST Middle School!

About me:
Ever since my first day of Kindergarten I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I lived my life with that goal in mind and achieved it with a humbled and grateful heart. Right after high school, I attended UCLA (Go Bruins!) and earned my Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology. Then, I attended USC (Go Trojans!) and earned my Master of Arts in Teaching as well as my single-subject teaching credential in English.

In my spare time, I LOVE to travel and be adventurous. I've taken a road trip from Mexico to Canada, climbed the steep hills of Machu Picchu, and endured -14 degrees fahrenheit in Alaska! I've even jumped out of a plane at 13,000 feet and laughed the entire way down!😂✈️ I believe adventure is the best way to learn, and part of that is to get out of your comfort zone and do something new! I never would've found my love for traveling if I hadn't jumped into a car and drove over 2,000 miles - it takes courage to find your passion!✨

I am super outgoing. I love to laugh, laugh and laugh. My favorite saying is "laugh until your heart overflows", and I truly believe that. Everything I do is rooted from the heart and my teaching exemplifies just that. I love to teach but I also love to learn - and I am super excited for everything I am going to learn from my students. I truly feel that they teach me more than I am able to teach them.

With that being said, I'm looking forward to helping our Matadors grow into the World's Greatest version of themselves- to help them figure out who they are, what their passions are, and their purpose in our world.

"For the world would be a better place if more people were doing what they love. Because we are happier when we discover our passions. Because life is more interesting when we open our hearts and minds. Because magic happens when we follow our dreams. The world needs you to do what you love. It will bring out the best in you."
