Congratulations to Karen Magana, who was named the new Principal of Alvarado Intermediate at the June 25, 2103 Board of Education Meeting. Mrs. Magana has served as the Learning Director at Alvarado Intermediate since 2009. She came to Rowland after serving as a Literacy Coach and Assistant Principal at the middle school level in Little Lake School District. Mrs. Magana holds both her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and her Masters of Arts in Education Administration from California State University, Los Angeles. During the past four years, Mrs. Magana has worked closely with Principal Mrs. Tsao. Mrs. Tsao and teachers have described her as a hardworking, dedicated leader ready to lead the school to the next level now that Mrs. Tsao is retiring. (Magana pictured with her proud family!)
