Today, students will take a final test on the novel, The Outsiders. Students will choose to take either a short-answer test or multiple choice test.
Prior to the test, students will turn in study questions for chapters 7-12. Students were asked to answer these questions during class as we read the novel.
Also, all chapters are available to read online or listen to on Youtube.

On Monday, March 4, during class, students will begin to write a rough draft for their argument essay using their research and outline. On Wednesday, March 6, students will have editing partners to make corrections in rough draft. Students will have class time on Wednesday and Thursday to write a final draft of this essay.
This project will be graded on the quality of the research notes, sources used page, outline and final draft. This packet of work is due at the beginning of class on Friday, March 8.

In class, students have read Ender's Game. Also during class, students have been working on a Multi-genre project. All directions and supplies needed have been given to students.
If a student did not finish this project in class, he or she needs to finish it as homework and turn it in on Monday, February 11.
If a student shares an assignment with me through a google account by 7:00 AM on Monday, I can print it out before school begins, hand to a student right when class begins. I can't print out assignments once school begins.

Students will take a test today on the parts of speech we have studied so far this year. This includes subject, verb/verb phrase, prepositions, and prepositional phrases.
Students have practiced identifying these parts of speech many times during class, and they have information explaining each part thoroughly.
